- Before you read, consider why you chose the article you did. Why does it seem interesting? What connection did you make with this article title, images, publication, etc.?
- Preview the article by looking at the subtitle, headings, images, etc. What prediction can you make about what the article will tell you? OR What question do you have about the topic that you hope the article will answer?
- While you read, jot down a few interesting facts and ideas. Also, write down questions that are raised in your mind while you read.
- After you read, summarize the article in 3-5 sentences.
- Would you recommend this article to a peer? Why or why not?
- Are you satisfied with your choice of articles? Why or why not? If you wanted to read another one, which on would you choose next?
